fox-face: I’ve come to the realization that The Hunger Games are pretty similar to shows like American Idol or X-Factor or other elimination type game shows. Each show only has one winner The winner receives a massive monetary prize, as well as promised fame and glory Other contestants are eliminated, whether literally or metaphorically Each show has a massive fanbase, whether mandatory or not The audience can help preferred contestants move forward, but cannot effect contestants in a negative way Obviously The Hunger Games are literally barbaric and have terrible consequences, but could you say the same thing on a lesser note about the shows we have today? I think so.
